It’s been quite some time since an update, and man what a year this has been! When we all thought COVID was going to be behind us soon, it continued to inch along and affect the adoption process for all.
So far we haven’t been matched with a birthmother, but we are very much still moving forward in our adoption journey. The past year has seen a dramatic decline in the number of adoptable children for many reasons, but social distancing is probably the main reason. At the same time, the number of couples hoping to adopt hasn’t slowed down, which is also affecting things. Our hearts are with those who have been waiting along with us for their future family additions.
We continue to work with the agency we started with and they have been very transparent through the whole process. We know in reality, it only takes one and we continue to pray for the one who is meant to join us!
The good news is that in the time since our last post we were awarded a $3,000 grant from the organization Pure Gift of God, a Christian Ministry that comes along side families who are adopting to help with mentoring, community, etc. We praise God for their support and hope to also be involved with them even more in the future.
We can’t say enough how incredibly grateful we are for our family, friends and even strangers who have reached out and supported, not just financially, but in prayer and encouragement.
In the meantime as we wait to grow our family, we’ve taken the opportunity to grow something else. These green beans are going crazy!
So please, continue to pray with us as the journey continues… perhaps a bit longer than we’d hoped, but not enough to quench our spirits. Thank you again for all of your support, and we do hope to have good news to share in the near future!
